A team of three physicians (two radiation oncologists and one cardio-oncologist) and one pharmacist, all actively involved in the daily management of prostate cancer at the Institut de Cancérologie de l’Ouest (ICO), a national center of excellence in oncology.
Our experience in the field highlighted the need for better interdisciplinary communication and improved management of drug interaction risks. This led us to develop the PROTHEICA tool, made available to the entire medical and pharmaceutical community.
The ICO is a Cancer Center (Centre de Lutte Contre le Cancer) that treats more than 48,000 patients each year across its two facilities in the Pays de la Loire region — in Angers (headquarters) and Nantes/Saint-Herblain.
With its four core missions — Prevention, Care, Research, and Education — the ICO provides comprehensive and cutting-edge cancer expertise throughout the region, exclusively dedicated to oncology.
